Exodus - The Redemption Plan Needs Structure

Learning to walk in the freedom of sobriety is tricky. There seems to be something different in “folks like us”. I think of it as being wired differently. This is often seen in a desperate need for structure but a deep resistance to the life giving guidelines we need.

As the Israelites are learning to live freely for the first time, they are “adulting” and they do not know what that looks like. The bulk of these problems wound up on Moses’ front porch. He could not keep up with everything. Then he received some great advice from his father in law.

Much can be learned from the leadership structure that was put into place. Societies still follow this model today. Perhaps there is something for us to learn.
