Exodus - The Redemption Plan Demands Faith

Often being freed from something is not the end, it is usually just the beginning. Whatever our addiction or struggle may have been, once we are freed or sober we have to learn to live without it. So often our lives have become the addiction. Maybe it is better said, our identities have become whatever our struggle was.

Something interesting happens in Exodus 13 and 14. The Hebrew people have been set free following the death angel and what we know as “the Passover”. This is a new nation on the run.

God’s children are on the run.  And their back is against the wall - the ocean.  Panic sets in. Remember, they have a slave or broken view of the world.  They have never been free.

Physically they are free or moving towards freedom.

Psychologically they are still bound.  They don’t know how to stand up for themselves.

Spiritually they are just learning what living in faith truly looks like.

God reminds His children to just be still and let Him continue to take care of them. Faith is demanded if we want to live in true freedom.
