Fight Boldly

Spiritual warfare is a topic that is discussed often within Christian circles.  But what is it?  Am I engaged in it?  Is my friend at work fighting some great battle?  What does it look like?  When I was younger I liked to think of Spiritual Warfare as a scene out of Braveheart or maybe Gladiator. Little old me going into battle.  Standing up against a great opponent with bravery just oozing from me.

As I have journeyed through life, I have come to realize the greatest spiritual battles are waged between my ears, in my mind.  Our thoughts have great power.  What we think will begin to define us.  Or has it already defined you?

Look folks, I am not talking about some hippie “positive thinking” self help thing!  I am talking about TAKING THOUGHTS CAPTIVE through the power of the Holy Spirit!  Allowing Jesus to have full reign of our minds.  Boldly saying I am beautiful and wonderfully made!  Not allowing the possible negative spiral of my thoughts to invade my relationships and rob me of joy and peace.

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

What is the first thing you think to yourself when you wake up?  Do you start your day off from the perspective of a child of God?  Are you thinking positive, Christ focused thoughts.  Look at it like this, when my eyes open in the morning and thoughts begin to stir in my mind, I have a choice to make.  How do I begin?  If I start my day off by thinking “I am beautifully made” I am off and running in one direction.  On the other hand, if I start my day off by thinking “I am worthless” I am off and running in a different direction!   My thoughts can and will unlock a life I either love or I despise.

Spiritual Warfare is real.  The fight for who you are in Christ is real.  It’s happening in your mind every day, all throughout your day!  Continually remind yourself who you are because of Jesus.  You are a child of God (John 1:12). You have been adopted into God’s family (Ephesians 1:4-5). God loves you like a father loves his son and daughter (Romans 8:14-17).  Walk boldly and with confidence.

In Christ, we have nothing to fear.  Jesus conquered all our fears and doubts. (John 16:33)  This is our foundation and as Jesus followers we must start our day from this Truth!  We are loved beyond measure!  I will let you in on a little secret - You are His favorite!  Now go live like it!
