Rejected to Accepted

“But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God’s instruments to do his work and speak out for him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference he made for you—from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted.” (1 Peter 2:9-10 MSG)

I love reading Peter’s words here.  They are such a sweet reminder of who we are.  The last three words put the biggest smile on my face! “Rejected to accepted”!!  Even as I am typing this, I had to stop.  Take a few moments to gather myself.  Just rest in the moment - knowing how much God loves me!  What a delight!

The problem is it’s more than just a reminder.  It’s a call to action!

When is the last time you stopped and quietly allowed Jesus to remind you how much He loves you?  I know the world is busy and your life is full of “stuff to do”.  But God is bigger and His love is greater! You are called to so much more!

I wonder what would happen if everyone that reads this took Peter’s reminder to heart.  “...God’s instruments to do his work and speak out for him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference he made for you—from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted.”  Who’s life would be changed?  Let’s put this great reminder of who we are because of Jesus into action today!  Tell someone, show someone that Jesus is the changer of life!
