What is in a Name
It appears to me that things are backwards. And for a large population today it’s okay. Fences are good in some areas and then viewed as bad in other areas. Some lives matter but others do not. Unity and understanding are desired as long everyone says the “correct thing”. I do not know anything else to say but it is backwards! And it can be frustrating to say the least.
I am continually reminded, through prayer and Scripture, there is one name above it all. No matter how backwards and upside down the world seems to be heading - the name of Jesus is above it all. The peace that comes from that statement is beyond words! It is all about His name. The name of Jesus!
Think about this for a moment, we are to keep our eyes on Jesus (Hebrews 12:2). Acts 4:11-12 tells us, “Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Philippians 2 reminds us, His name is above every name and it is highly exalted. We can see there is great power, undefinable power, in the name of Jesus! There is great hope for those who follow Jesus!
It is as simple as asking in Jesus name. All the backward and upside down things of life are made right! What power! What hope!
“The person who trusts me will not only do what I’m doing but even greater things, because I, on my way to the Father, am giving you the same work to do that I’ve been doing. You can count on it. From now on, whatever you request along the lines of who I am and what I am doing, I’ll do it. That’s how the Father will be seen for who he is in the Son. I mean it. Whatever you request in this way, I’ll do.” (John 14:11-14 MSG)
