Regular Old Guys
I am blessed beyond words to have a group of friends that truly care for me. We have an on going group text where we share prayer requests, devotional ideas, and just little bits of life. For the record, these are just regular old guys. If you saw us all together you would wonder “what we’re up to”. There is nothing special about any of us - except each one is pursuing Jesus with everything they have!
Yesterday I had the need to reach out and ask for prayer on two separate occasions. Once in the early morning and again later in the afternoon. The burden of both of these prayer needs weighed heavily on me. All I knew to do was pray and ask my friends to pray with me. As each one of my brothers in Christ responded, the heaviness lifted a little more. Scattered all over the southeast we were joined together in prayer.
So much Scripture was on display. We were walking in God’s word! “Faith like a grain of mustard seed” (Matthew 17:20). “Where two or more are gathered” (Matthew 18:20). “It is what we trust in but do not yet see that keeps us going” (2 Corinthians 5:7). “Share each other’s burdens (Galatians 6:2). The words from a 2000 year old book are alive.
People often seem to be looking for a miracle - A miraculous sign from God. To that I say, He is all around you. You may be walking in your miracle right now. Have you slowed down enough to experience it? Isaiah 26:3 tells us to fix our thoughts and eyes on Him. Change your focus and see the Miraculous! God is at work today!
