Not Just on Sunday
For some reason, it seems easier to do “God stuff” on Sundays - at least Sunday morning before lunch and definitely before the Nascar race! The problem is we need God on Monday and throughout the week. Everyday. All day.
Jeremiah tells us “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, his compassions never fail. They are new every morning” Lamentations 3:22-23
I will go a step further and say, not just every morning but anytime and as many times as we need Him. We can cry out to God and His mercy and grace is there for us. Plus, we don’t have to be shy about either. We can “boldly approach God’s throne of grace” Hebrews 4:16.
The Message puts it like this, ““Now that we know what we have—Jesus, this great High Priest with ready access to God—let’s not let it slip through our fingers. We don’t have a priest who is out of touch with our reality. He’s been through weakness and testing, experienced it all—all but the sin. So let’s walk right up to him and get what he is so ready to give. Take the mercy, accept the help.”
Sunday’s are wonderful! Enjoy the worship, fellowship, connections and rest. Just don’t leave Jesus at the church building. Remember because of Jesus and the cross, we can call upon God anytime and anywhere!
